Redefining Governance with Direct Democracy
The current political system in Britain creates imbalance between power and accountability, undermining responsibility and fairness.
The Process Party wants to bring in meaningful electoral reform that does three big things:
- Removes power as the main reason people go into politics (so politicians stop chasing control for its own sake).
- Creates genuine equal opportunity for everyone.
- Brings full government transparency, with clear, honest updates on how well things are actually performing.
We believe this change will come through Direct Democracy – letting ordinary people easily understand and improve the system together.
In short: it’s about giving real power back to the people!
The Purpose of Government
Government exists primarily to

The Problem with Government
The people in Government are not incentivised to focus on delivering the will of the people so real issues of the people are not being addressed.
The incentives for politicians primarily comes from lobbying and other forms of financial influence that diverts their attention away from the will of the people
What is the root cause of Governments failure to serve the people?
Politicians, like all of us, are humans and react to incentive structures built into their environment. These structures are driven and managed through:
- The Power to act
- The Reward for that behaviour
- The Risk that behaviour bears
- The Responsibility for behaving with good intentions for all concerned
- The Accountability that is driven by those affected to ensure Risks are fairly given to improve the behaviour when it is repeated
If certain influences on these factors push politicians to act against the public interest, ordinary people end up suffering because nothing gets delivered for them.
Our current system has been slowly manipulated over time as some powerful groups only care about winning for themselves, not working together to compromise. As they increase their power of influence, they seek to hold that power through manipulation.
The root cause is the pursuit of Power as an incentive to govern that Rewards politicians to subvert the will of the people.
How does the pursuit of Power affects Government?

How do we fix the issue of Power Manipulation?
There are so many problems in Britain today that trying to sort them out under the current system would take forever and get bogged down in endless political arguments. The people in power often seem to deliberately slow things down because they're on top and don’t want real change.
But imagine a better system that logically puts your everyday concerns first, sets clear targets, and lets you easily see how well the politicians are actually doing their job – while making it impossible for the old manipulators to block progress.

Representational Democracy
The first diagram shows the key overall steps of current representational democracy, Notice that when you elect someone into power, you give away your right to set the strategy for the nation as well as how you will get there. This allows the people in power to say one thing during elections, but actually enact other policies once they have your power!
Direct Democracy
With Direct Democracy however, the key change is splitting away strategy setting and giving it to the people to decide! This means once a party takes your power, they are beholden to OUR collective goals as a nation and so lobbying and other forms of post election manipulation cannot change the direction that we set!

"No turkey will vote for Christmas", so the public's agenda will stay focused on practical fixes that matter to everyday life over the long term because you won't have different parties completely upending the changes we the people demand.
So decisions reflect the statistical average of millions of voices, extreme populist ideas simply won’t prevail but sensitive issues will be addressed.
